Graduate School of Engineering
(Master's / Doctoral Course)

To Prospective Students

Chubu University, established in 1964, is located in a suburb north of Nagoya, a rapidly growing industrial and economic center in the central region of Japan. The Graduate School of Engineering was established at Chubu University in 1971, seven years after the establishment of the university. Since that time, the Engineering College has been training talented engineers with high levels of scientific and technical knowledge and originality.

To meet the needs of a diverse and complex industrial society, the Graduate School of Engineering began offering an advanced degree program in 1973. The program is divided into two phases: A two-year Master's program and a three-year Doctoral program.

Among science and engineering colleges of private universities in the To kai area, Chubu University's Graduate School of Engineering was the first to offer a doctoral program. Our graduate school has endeavored to train qualified students after their undergraduate studies and prepare them for leading roles in our modern industrial society. The Engineering College of Chub University has been making a continuous effort to encourage basic research, as well as research activities aimed at the development of new technology, and has been successful in securing excellent faculty members from both the world of academia and private industry.

Japan has grown rapidly and it can now stand shoulder to shoulder with Western nations as a technologically advanced country. However, In the beginning of 21st Century, we cannot take a complacent view of the future. There are many difficult unsolved problems, such as intensifying international competition for science and technology, an increasing amount of information for society, energy issues including nuclear power, and environmental problems threatening the harmonious development of technology.

We are looking forward to welcoming those who are ambitious enough to explore the scientific frontiers of the new century, and with them devote ourselves to finding the solutions to the problems we face. Join us as we study, think, and face the challenge together at the Graduate School of Engineering at Chubu University.
