Research on the development of human resources with practical knowledge and skills who can address complex educational challenges

In recent years, educational problems have become increasingly complex and intractable. The Institute of Contemporary Education studies various problems plaguing schools including nursery schools, especially from the perspective of human resources development. To address public fear and concerns about education today as well as the problem of declining academic ability, it is essential to strengthen collaboration among schools, families and communities. It is therefore vitally important to develop well-trained specialists who can take leading roles in tackling these challenges. The Institute has launched a project to develop principles and methods to promote human resources development in the education sector, and the research results have been presented to the University in the form of proposals. As part of the project, the Center has been implementing the Friendship Activity Program, which aims to help students studying to become childcare or school teachers develop their abilities to understand children and practical instruction skills.
