Consolidated Survey of Issues of Global Concern

The Research Institute for International Regional Studies' focus is on research into political, social, and cultural issues facing the world today. This Department, in particular, conducts research into the various challenges faced by developing countries with a view to contributing to the development of those regions. Its findings are released in the journal 'International Research', published by the Research Institute. In addition, results are presented at shared research meetings, with lecturers invited from Japan and abroad, and also, at the biennial symposium held jointly with the 'Ritsumeikan University Research Institute for International & Regional Studies', with significant participation by overseas researchers.
