Chubu Language Center (CLC)
The University's Language Center makes full use of state-of-the-art technique and expertise for foreign language acquisition. The center offers full practical training using up-to-the-minute language-learning technology, fine-tuned to the demands of this internationalised age. The Center's Language & Media Laboratory is fully equipped with LL facilities to provide advanced all-round language instruction. There is a computer at every desk linked to a central network, requiring mastery of audio and audio-visual materials through CAI (Computed Assisted Instruction) technology. With its receipt of the 1999 JACET Practical Teaching Award, the center's Teaching Unit has earned extra-mural accolades for its innovative research into computer- and internet-based teaching materials. In addition to the Center's excellent facilities, native English instructors from our sister school, Ohio University, have joined the teaching staff to set up and run Program PASEO, our English Language Course.
