中部大学教育研究No.22(2022)―32―JournalofChubuUniversityEducationNo.22(2022)AReportonEnglishEducationin2021OHKADOMasayuki*1,IMAMURAHiromi*1,NISHIMURASatoshi*1,KATOYoshitaka*2,SEKIYAMAKenji*2,andWADATamami*2*1Professor,LanguageEducationProgram(English),SchoolofGeneralEducation,ChubuUniversity*2AssociateProfessor,LanguageEducationProgram(English),SchoolofGeneralEducation,ChubuUniversityAbstractSince2011,thedivisionofEnglishEducation(LanguageEducationProgram,English,SchoolofGeneralEducation)hasbeenprovidingeducationbasedonthenewlyestablishedpolicyasinreportedinOhkadoetal.(2010).Wehadalsobeenreportingtheresultsofthenewcurriculumasmeasuredbythecombinationoftwoexistingtestsandtwonewlycreatedtests:thefreshmantestandtheproficiencytest;andtheachievementtestandthevocabularytest.Thispracticewasdiscontinuedin2020becauserelevantclasseswereallheldonlineduetothespreadofCOVID-19andthetestswerenotconductedintheregularfashion.However,face-to-faceclasseswerere-establishedin2021andalmostalltheclasseswereconductedasbefore.Inthispaper,wereporttheresultsoftheabove-mentionedtestsandseeiftherearenotabledifferencesbetweentheresultsin2021andthosein2019.KeywordsEnglishEducation,AchievementTest,FreshmanTest,ProficiencyTest,VocabularyTest
