2023年度の全学英語教育に関する報告―33―JournalofChubuUniversityEducationNo.24(2024)AReportonEnglishEducationin2023OHKADOMasayuki*1,IMAMURAHiromi*1,NISHIMURASatoshi*1,SEKIYAMAKenji*2,TAKEUCHIMito*2andWADATamami*2*1Professor,LanguageEducationProgram(English),SchoolofGeneralEducation,ChubuUniversity*2AssociateProfessor,LanguageEducationProgram(English),SchoolofGeneralEducation,ChubuUniversityAbstractSince2011,thedivisionofEnglishEducation(LanguageEducationProgram,English,SchoolofGeneralEducation)hasbeenprovidingeducationbasedontheestablishedpolicythatwasreportedinOhkadoetal.(2010).Wehavealsobeenreportingtheresultsofthecurriculumasmeasuredbythecombinationoffourtests:thefreshmantest;theproficiencytest;theachievementtest;andthevocabularytest(withtheexceptionoftheyear2020becauserelevantclasseswereallheldonlineduetothespreadofCOVID-19andthetestswerenotconductedintheregularfashion).Inthispaper,wereporttheresultsofEnglisheducationbasedonourpolicyin2023.Wealsotouchonthetworecurringandgrowingissuesof(1)academicgapand(2)lowattendancerates.Additionally,weaddressanissueconcerningclassorganizationunderthepresentsystem.KeywordsEnglishEducation,AchievementTest,FreshmanTest,ProficiencyTest,VocabularyTest
