中部大学教育研究No.22(2022)―52―JournalofChubuUniversityEducationNo.22(2022)RevisingaTextbookof“IntroductiontoInformationandCommunicationTechnology”forStudentsEnrolledinacademicyear2022:TheTextbookandCurriculuminConsiderationofRemoteClassesFUJIITakashi*1,SUZUKITomoharu*2,SUZUKIHajime*3andYAMADAYuko*1*1SeniorAssistantProfessor,CollegeofEngineering,ChubuUniversity*2Professor,SchoolofGeneralEducation,ChubuUniversity*3Professor,CenterforMathematicalScienceandArtificialIntelligence,ChubuUniversityAbstractAllnewstudentsatChubuUniversityhavehadalaptopcomputersince2004.In2020,withthespreadofCOVID-19,wesuddenlydecidedtointroducearemotelectureformat.Remotelecturesoffered"onlinelectures,"inwhichlecturesaregiveninrealtime,and"on-demandlectures,"inwhichlecturematerialsandpre-recordedvideosareplacedontheIntranetinadvanceandcanbetakenatanytime.Asaresult,studentsmusthaveacomputer,internetconnection,andcomputerskillstoparticipateinremotelecture.However,therearemanystudentswhohaveacomputerforthefirsttimeandarenotgoodatcomputers.TheymayfinditverydifficulttosetupanInternetconnection,setupmail,installsoftware,etc.bythemselves.Weareinchargeof"IntroductiontoInformationandCommunicationTechnology"and"AppliedInformationandCommunicationTechnology,"twocomputerintroductioncoursesfornewstudents.Wethoughtthatbyexplainingtheremoteclasssoftwareandtoolsduringthelectures,otherremoteclasseswouldgosmoothly.Wemadesignificantrevisions,corrections,andadditionstoexistingtextbookstoensurethatnewstudentsarepreparedforremoteclassesandreportsubmissions.Wealsoaddedthenewesttopic,AI,tothetextbook.Keywordscomputereducation,remotelectures,COVID-19,InformationandCommunicationTechnology
