中部大学教育研究No.23(2023)―58―JournalofChubuUniversityEducationNo.23(2023)SignificanceofCommunityExerciseClassesrunbyUniversityStudentswithaFocusonDevelopingHumanResourcesforRegionalRevitalization:OGATAHisayoshi*1,OKENORumi*2andMATSUMURAAyako*3*1AssociateProfessor,DepartmentofLifelongSportsandHealthSciences,CollegeofLifeandHealthSciences,ChubuUniversity*2Lecturer,DepartmentofLifelongSportsandHealthSciences,CollegeofLifeandHealthSciences,ChubuUniversity*3AssociateProfessor,SchoolofGeneralEducation,HealthandSportsEducationProgram,ChubuUniversityAbstractRegionalrevitalizationisoneoftheimportantissuesforlocalcommunity.Revitalizationcanbeadvancedthroughsports.Inordertocultivatehumanresourcescontributingtoregionalrevitalization,studentsinChubuUniversityweregivenanopportunitytoprovideeducationonsportsandphysicalexercisesforcommunity-dwellingpersonsinlocalcommunityclassesoutsidetheuniversityincollaborationwithKasugaiCityandSocialWelfareCorporationMachiswing.Thestudentstakechargeoftwoclasses:oneclassisforpersons50yearsofageorolder,andanotherclassforelementaryschoolchildren.Thestudentsnotonlyprovideinstructionsonsportsandphysicalexercisesbutalsocreateexercisemenus.Thestudentsreflectontheirperformanceafterthecompletionofclasses.TwostudentswhohadparticipatedintheclassesobtainedajobinSocialWelfareCorporationMachiswingaftergraduationfromuniversity.Theyarenowengagedintowndevelopmentprojectsthroughsportsinthesamelocalarea.ThiscaseisinaccordancewiththeintentofguidelinesaboutconstructionofaregionalcollaborativeplatformofferedbytheMinistryofEducation,Culture,SportsandTechnology.Theguidelinesstatethatindustriesareexpectedtoenhancethefunctionofhumanresourcedevelopmentofuniversitiesbytheiractivecollaborationandthatavirtuouscycleofretainingexcellenthumanresourcesisexpectedasaresultoftheircollaboration.Keywordsexerciseinstruction,universitystudent,multi-generation,localcommunity,regionalrevitalization
