中部大学教育研究No.23(2023)―64―JournalofChubuUniversityEducationNo.23(2023)AReportonEnglishEducationin2022OHKADOMasayuki*1,IMAMURAHiromi*1,NISHIMURASatoshi*1,KATOYoshitaka*2,SEKIYAMAKenji*2andWADATamami*2*1Professor,LanguageEducationProgram(English),SchoolofGeneralEducation,ChubuUniversity*2AssociateProfessor,LanguageEducationProgram(English),SchoolofGeneralEducation,ChubuUniversityAbstractSince2011,thedivisionofEnglishEducation(LanguageEducationProgram,English,SchoolofGeneralEducation)hasbeenprovidingeducationbasedonnewlyestablishedpolicyasinreportedinOhkadoetal.(2010).Wehavealsobeenreportingtheresultsofthenewcurriculumasmeasuredbythecombinationoftwoexistingtestsandtwonewlycreatedtests:thefreshmantestandtheproficiencytest;andtheachievementtestandthevocabularytest,withtheexceptionoftheyear2020becauserelevantclasseswereallheldonlineduetothespreadofCOVID-19andthetestswerenotconductedintheregularfashion.Inthispaper,wereporttheresultsofEnglisheducationbasedonourpolicyin2022.Wealsotouchonthetworecurringandgrowingissuesof(1)academicgapand(2)lowattendancerates.KeywordsEnglishEducation,AchievementTest,FreshmanTest,ProficiencyTest,VocabularyTest
