About the Department of Civil Engineering

The Department of Civil Engineering cultivates civil engineers with the ability to create both a harmonious and safe social environment. Complete mastery of the fundamentals of civil engineering is undertaken in the first semester. Upon completion of these basics, five additional fields of study are undertaken: Structural Engineering, Engineering in Concrete, Hydraulics, Engineering of Foundations, and Civil Design. Finally, students specialize in two of these fields and continue study to expand their knowledge in the chosen areas.

In order to be immediately competitive in the rapidly progressing field of civil engineering, it is extremely important to understand the actual conditions of a construction site. To achieve this, engineers at the forefront of their profession are invited onto the teaching staff as part-time lecturers, enabling the students to learn about the latest technologies. In addition, understanding of human relationships and cooperation is nurtured through a series of seminars run during the academic year and attended by students of all levels.
