About the Department of Astronautics and Aeronautics

The Chubu region has been designated by the Japanese Government as an International Strategic Special Zone, named the “Special Zone to Create Asia’s No.1 Aerospace Industrial Cluster.” As a result, many aerospace companies are located in and around Aichi Prefecture.

In the manufacturing and development of spacecraft, aircraft, engine, fuselage, wing, and other components, as well as in the development of electronic information equipment and software that are essential to the aerospace industry, there is an increasing need for personnel who can engage in production development.

The Department of Astronautics and Aeronautics takes full advantage of the location of our university in the hub of the aerospace industry in order to provide students with a variety of learning experiences. In particular, students can attend special lectures by visiting engineers who are playing leading roles in the aerospace industry. Students also have the opportunity to tour the factories of aerospace companies and experience workshop practices there. The department gives lectures and practical training to students while maintaining a good relationship with industrial circles around the university, cultivating engineers who will be able to demonstrate their abilities globally as leaders in the field of spacecraft/aircraft manufacturing and development.
