About the College of Science and Engineering
Modern science and technology are required not only for the convenience and comfort of the people of today, but also for the sustainable development and advancement of future generations, so that they can live safe, secure, and prosperous lives. To this end, specialists in this field must have broad and cross-sectional knowledge of the basics of science and engineering, they must understand and master rapidly evolving state-of-the-art technology, and they need to have the knowledge and skills to think and act comprehensively from a broad perspective.
The Chubu region, centered around Aichi Prefecture, is a major base for the aerospace industry and is expected to continue to grow significantly in the future. Furthermore, robot technology is expected to be used in a wide range of fields, including medical care, nursing care, and life support, in addition to being used for improving processing technology and productivity in automobile manufacturing.
The College of Science and Engineering, which consists of three departments, the Department of Mathematical and Physical Sciences, the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, and the Department of Astronautics and Aeronautics, provides students with the fundamentals of science, cutting-edge science and technology, as well as logical thinking skills that are needed to create new industries and science and technology. We foster “reliable scientists and engineers” who can create and contribute to the construction of a society that can develop sustainably.
