Challenging to speed up information processing – Fundamental theories of quantum computing –

A group led by Dr. Masanao OZAWA is conducting theoretical research that will lead to the development of quantum computers with processing speeds an order of magnitude faster than today. In 2003, Professor Ozawa proposed Ozawa’s measurement-disturbance relation, a modification of Heisenberg’s uncertainty relation, a fundamental law of quantum mechanics. His theory was experimentally confirmed in 2012. Further theoretical research is currently underway for the practical application of quantum cryptography, which prevents the interception of information.
