A five-member delegation from Shaoxing University (China), led by President Zhao Yang, visited Chubu University on Tuesday, July 2nd. The two universities first signed an agreement for academic exchange in November 2016, and in March 2024, Dr. Koichi Hasegawa, Deputy Director of Chubu University’s Center for International Affairs, and other staff from the Center for International Affairs, travelled to Shaoxing University.
During the delegation’s visit, members exchanged views on promoting future student and research exchanges, enjoyed a welcome lunch, toured facilities in the College of Engineering and the College of Bioscience and Biotechnology, and had discussions with Chinese international students.
In 2017, three students from Shaoxing University participated in the Sakura Science Plan held at Chubu University, and in 2018, a graduate from Shaoxing University enrolled in Chubu’s Graduate School of Engineering. It is hoped that this visit will serve as an opportunity to further deepen exchange initiatives between the two universities.
