Wonkwang University Presidential Delegation Visits Chubu University

A five-member delegation from Wonkwang University (South Korea), led by President Sung-Tae Park, visited Chubu University on Monday, August 5th, 2024. The two universities first signed an agreement for academic exchange in April 2000, but have held regular handball friendship matches since 1984, 16 years prior to that. Members of the two universities have made frequent visits over the years. The visit of President Park and his delegation coincided with the 24th Handball Friendship Match, held at Chubu University.

During the delegation’s visit, members reflected on the history of exchanges that began with friendly relations through handball, and they exchanged opinions on how to promote future student and research exchanges. They also participated in a welcome dinner, toured research facilities, talked with exchange students, experienced a Japanese tea ceremony, and watched a handball match.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this was the first visit between the two universities in five years. It is hoped that this visit will serve as an opportunity to further deepen exchange initiatives between the two universities.
