Times Higher Education (THE), a British higher education magazine, recently released “THE Interdisciplinary Science Rankings 2026,” in which Chubu University was ranked 801+ globally (23rd in Japan). In the Chubu region, Nagoya University and Chubu University were the only two universities listed, ranking in the fifth group of private universities.
This second edition of THE Interdisciplinary Science Rankings evaluates universities engaged in interdisciplinary research encompassing multiple fields, including computer science, engineering, life sciences, and physical sciences. The ranking indicators represent each stage of the research project life cycle and are composed of 11 categories in 3 areas: input (funding), process (measures of success, facilities, administrative support, promotion), and output (publications, research quality, reputation).
