ジョンヒー・カージック先生のご逝去に心よりお悔やみを申し上げます。中部大学教職員のみならず、学生、卒業生も皆、彼女の死を悼み、深い悲しみに暮れています。
彼女はオハイオ大学と中部大学の間の学生交流の中心となってこられました。最も注目に値するのは、彼女が夫のジェリー・カージック先生とともに、1994年以来OPIEのオハイオ大学長期研修に参加する中部大学の学生たちをとてもよく世話してくださったことです。彼女は2,000人以上の学生にアドバイスし、支援してくださり、学生たちは愛情を込めて彼女を「アセンズの第二の母」と呼んでいました。さらに、1993年にはオハイオ大学の第1期学生グループを引率され、中部大学への留学プログラムの基礎を築いてくださいました。また、オハイオ大学では、日本語と日本文化を教え、学生たちに中部大学への留学を奨励されました。
さらに、彼女は温かく、優しく、そして明るく、一緒に仕事をしたいと思うすてきな同僚でした。彼女の笑顔には人の心を和ませる力があり、それが周りに広がっていくので、彼女と一緒にいるのが楽しかったです。中部大学の教職員、学生の多くも同じ気持ちだったと思います。間違いなく、彼女は中部大学で最も愛されているオハイオ大学の教員の一人です。
中部大学で彼女を知るすべての人にとって、ジョンヒー先生のご逝去は非常に惜しまれるでしょう。彼女の家族、友人、そしてオハイオ大学関係者の皆様に心からお悔やみを申し上げます。

I would like to express our deepest sympathy on the passing of Ms. Joung Hee Krzic. Not only Chubu faculty and staff but also students and alumni collectively mourn her passing with great sorrow.
She has been the center of student exchanges between OHIO and Chubu. Most noteworthy is that she had been taking very good care of Chubu students who participated in Ohio-Choki Program at OPIE since 1994 along with her husband, Mr. Gerry Krzic. She advised and helped more than 2000 students who affectionately referred to her as “second mother in Athens.” Moreover, she laid the foundation of the study abroad program at Chubu University by leading the first group of OHIO students in 1993. Also, she taught Japanese language and culture at OHIO and encouraged students to study abroad at Chubu.
Beyond that, she was a great colleague to work with because of her warmth, kindness, and cheerfulness. Her smile had a power to soothe people’s mind and it was contagious, so I always enjoyed being with her. I am sure most of Chubu’s faculty, staff and students must have felt the same. Undoubtedly, she is one of the most beloved OHIO faculty at Chubu.
Joung Hee will be greatly missed by everyone who knows her at Chubu. Our deepest sympathies to her family, friends, and the entire Ohio University community.
